I got to spend sometime in the South for Khanh & Sora’s beautiful wedding. The wedding was in Houston, TX and it was a hot day, which is fitting for how good these two looked. The day involved quite a bit of getting around for each part of the day, but it just made the day that much more interesting.
The bride readied at the beautiful Hotel Zaza, which required some shuffling to avoid seeing the groom since the groom got ready there as well. Sora had her hair professionally done by Suleiman Telfah from Hair Therapy Salon, but did her makeup by herself … and I see why, this girl knows how to do makeup! After she got ready for the big day, they moved to the nice sweet, while I got a few shot of the guys getting ready. And of course, the guys come rolling in just a bit for the ceremony to get ready. (Makes me appreciate all the things girls have to do to get ready that much more.)
The ceremony took place in the backyard of Sora’s grandparent’s house since it held special meaning to her. Sora lost her grandfather the previous year, so Khanh & Sora decided to have the ceremony under the grapefruit tree her grandfather planted. The wedding is about a year after he has passed. There was a lot of emotion in the air and I couldn’t think of a better place to have the ceremony. I even forgot how hot it was until the ceremony was over.
We had sometime after the ceremony to drive down to Philippe Restaurant + Lounge before the reception. It had a beautiful lounge area where I got some great shots of the bridal party, but then we did a slight walk around the area to a couple places I scouted the day before. The reception followed and partying commenced.
Enjoy the photos because I loved loved loved taking them. Special thanks to Alex Doong from Taipei Wedding for shooting wingman for me. Many of the photos below are shot by him.
